SEBURO MN-23 - Fixing Lower Frame associated with Magazine Release
Destination
1.Since bonded right and left Lower Frame make difficult to repair and maintain a MN-23, so allow to disassemble Lower Frame for service and maintenance of inner components as keeping rigidity.
2.When want to release the magazine , must slip a index finger into inside of Lower Frame for that this kit's Magazine Catch Lever is diverted from FA-MAS.
And overlarge magazine loading slot makes difficult to insert the magazine and easy to come in dust and coom.
Modify the Grip Bumper, my favorite design, to slidable that makes magazine release possible like Original Design No.1,2,4 to 8.
Operation
Fix Lower Frame
Can't find out another coupling point between right and left in Original Design except 2 points on the Stock Handle. So, position holes suitably. One is in front of Magazine Loading Slot, and other one is at center of the Grip.
There is not enough wall thickness around the Grip, apply putty to make rigidity.
Make and/or enlarge holes with suitable diameter and depth for flange diameter of Phillips round head screw. Subpunching and reaming make it perfect. :-)
Adjust inner span with long-nuts and collars. Must put in washer between collar and Lower Frame body against compression buckling.
Magazine Release
Bond 3mm thickness cellular PVC board onto Lower Frame to fill a gap between it and the magazine without thrust playing.
At the same time tuck tapping screw in exact position with magazine's cut-away that for error-free magazine installation.
Make back-side guide with stainless-steel(or some metallic material) general stay to ease magazine installation.
Upper mount is fixed with Selector Base by one 3mm screw.
Lower mount is fixed to new hole positioned suitable.(MOON NET's MN-23 seems to have pity salience under the Stock Handle)
Fill the gap around the magazine by using cellular PVC board again. Augment strength of PVC wall by application putty.
Crook an aluminium 6mm scantling as that the fulcrum must be positioned in the interstices between front of Magazine Catch Lever and MN-23's body, and the scantling must push Magazine Catch Lever when its lower end move back. With cut off leading edge of Magazine Catch Lever.
For the best result, must bend the scantling in a such a way that achieve progressive lever ratio.
Install return spring from the scantling to the bottom side (bonded to left side) of Grip Screw Fixing Part.
The aluminium 6mm scantling swing in action cause of its S-curve.
Make guides in front of Magazine Catch Lever and the center of the scantling to forfend the swing.
Grind off fixing section on bottom surface of the grip and then hole elliptically or rectangularly.
Make bottom surface of the grip flat.
Cover there and bridge with rigid plastic. In this time use the bottom cover of Marui FA-MAS.
Circumfuse the bridge with plastic putty, and fix by 4mm Phillips flat head tapping screw.
Make upper surface(bottom surface in the right side photo) of the Grip Bumper flat, passingly make checkering of front side. Then it fixed to the scantling by M3X0.5 Phillips round head screw.
The fulcrum of this lever is different from the original design, but looks not so bad! ... self-admiration :-)
Magazine can install easily cause of there is no superfluous space to escape. 3mm tapping screw prevent to front-side-back or up-side-down installation.
